Farmer's Market

Our local farmer's market had a special Kid's Day this morning. Local vendors brought animals to show children where their food comes from. Bright and early, we took Andrew to the market. He got to see the animals up close and even got to sample some fresh strawberry sorbet. Yum!

Daddy and Andrew with the live bees.

He loved the cute chicks! (no pun intended!)

There were two sweet lil bunnies, but Andrew was too entralled by the big dogs walking by with their owners.

There were tons of fresh organic produce, but we opted for some healthy indian pastries and jalapeno cheese bread!

Tot Spot

Today we went to the Tot Spot at the Children's Museum for the second time. Andrew absolutely LOVES this place. Its such a wonderful place catered towards the development of babies through 2 yrs of age. They have mirrored walls, padded floors, books, a gym setup, and toys galore! As soon as we enter the tot spot, Andrew gets so excited and starts kicking to get down from my arms and starts grabbing for everything. He especially loves the light up bubble machine. He even pulled himself up on it today! He was so exhausted afterwards.. he's taking an especially long nap this afternoon... three hours!!! whoohoo for me!

Here's a picture some of the younger babies in our group.

There's a colorful ceiling fan with banners hanging from it that they are just so mesmerized by!

Another padded play area with mirrors on the walls.

This is the light up bubble machine. Andrew loves this and i caught myself staring at it for a while too!

He pulled himself up!Yea!

Gymbo Grandmas

Today was our weekly Gymboree day, and Andrew's grandmother and great grandmother went with us.. 4 generations of the family at gymboree today! It was a great day to have visitors at gymboree. We got to play in the gym, sing songs, ride scooters, play baby soccer, and climb under the big parachute. Oh yea.. can't forget bubble time! Andrew's favorite was the scooter. He watched a baby go back and forth on it for a while, then crawled over there to get on one himself. I got to take some really cute pictures today. Here are some of my favorite pics!

Grandma and Great Grandma with Andrew. He was too busy staring at the ball and i couldn't get him to look up!

Andrew and his buddies "scooting"

Look at Andrew's face! This baby kept trying to grab his face and he clearly did not like it. It was hilarious because when she stopped touching his face, he looked at her dead in the face with a frown and was saying "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH..." in an angry voice! That's my boy.. keep those girls away!

Meanwhile, Alex (on the left) thinks its funny!

Look at Grandma Ji playing baby soccer with her grandson! so cute! Don't let her smile fool you.. she was actually starting to get kind of competitive!

Andrew looks like he's getting in position.. in full concentration on the ball.

Another one of Andrew's favorites.. the signature gymboree parachute! Its a gigantic parachute that the all the moms lift up and quickly get under to make a huge tent of bright colors. We sing songs and do short activities under the parachute. You would think babies would cry because they get scared.. but they LOVE it!

crab crawl

Andrew has been crawling for almost 2 weeks now. I waited to post a clip of him crawling in the hopes that he would start crawling normally, but it looks like that's not gonna happen. He has somehow developed his own way of crawling with his hands on the ground, one knee on the ground, and one foot on the ground. Its a modified crab crawl, i guess! Check it out...

Doorstop

As soon as Andrew figured out that he can get where he wants to go now, he has started getting his hands into things around the house...electrical cords, outlets, dvd player..etc. We've been putting off baby proofing the house, but looks like we can't put it off any longer. For the moment, he is really intrigued by the doorstoppers in the house. He crawls over to them in each room and starts playing with it or tries to put it in his mouth. Watch below!

snot sucking fun

Have you ever seen a baby enjoy getting snot sucked out of his face? Better yet, have you seen any baby actually laugh while getting it done? Andrew has had a runny nose the past week and it amazed us when he started laughing while getting his snot sucked out with a bulb syringe. We were able to catch the end of it on tape. I love how he tilts his head to get into position for the next suction!

Gymboree

We had so much fun at Gymboree today. The teacher rolled out this bouncy tube for the babies to roll and bounce on to help with balancing their bodies. Andrew got to see his buddy James, and they had a great time together. Its so cute to see babies smile at each other. James was all smiles when he saw Andrew today.

Andrew was supposed to be practicing crawling up a slide, but as you can see.. he was too busy playing with the ball.

Weekend with the Ji's

Andrew's great grandmother came to houston last week. She was so excited to see her great grandson, and Andrew took a liking to her immediately. Everytime she had a chance, she would steal Andrew away from everyone and take him to a secluded area to have him all to herself! We would find them playing pattycake or just "talking" to each other. It was so cute! This past weekend, Andrew's cousin Kaitlin also came down to houston to visit. The Ji clan was complete.

I love his pic of Uncle Daniel reading "A Day at the Zoo" to his nephew.

The Chae-Kim's visit

This past weekend, the Chae-Kim's visited houston. Andrew got to see his best bud Kaden again. They got along so well and even played soccer together (although i think the dads enjoyed it more)! The highlight of the visit was our trip to the zoo on Saturday. They got to ride in the wagon and had a blast looking at all the different animals. The whole weekend went by in a flash!

Andrew and Kaden got to ride in the car together the whole weekend. I guess this is what it would be like with 2 babies the same age? Whew....i couldn't even begin to imagine!

Lunch at Saigon Pagolac. You can't see it.. but Kaden's shredded bib and toy are on the ground. The boy needs to enter a baby ironman competition!

They took a bath together. What is Kaden looking and pointing at? okay.. we may not be able to do bathtime together much longer! =P

Entering the zoo. Thank God there weren't any headbutts in the wagon!

Auntie Jenny could not resist and bought her nephews a penguin souvenier each.

Now to our main event... Baby Soccer! The dads LOVED this... even taking it to another level by throwing some headers in it! Kaden loved it and had the biggest kool-aid smile on his face the whole time. Andrew, unfortunately, was not feelin the headers.

Jumparoo

Andrew absolutely loves his jumparoo. He's been using it for over 4 months now, which is a really long time for a baby to still enjoy a toy. He can't get enough of it! He makes it look so fun that i wish they made one for adults! Here's a clip of him in action....

Playday at the Park

We had a playdate today at the park with some other mommies. I found out that Andrew loves to swing! I wasn't sure how he would feel about it, but as soon as i put him in the swing, he had the biggest smile on his face and started kicking his legs like crazy!

Typing

What is it about kids and keyboards? Andrew just loves the type (or bang) on the keyboard. It cracks me up to see him type... and then look at the screen. You can see him doing it below. We had to finally give him his own keyboard to play with. I often wonder if he sees me on the computer all the time and is trying to copy me. Its scary to imagine all the things kids learn just from watching their parents.

Taking care of business

Why do we, as parents, think every little darn thing is so freakin cute? When our baby burps.. the louder the better...and we say "GOOD"! When our baby has a poopie..the bigger the better.. and we writhe at the smell but secretly feel so good about it! Here's a clip of Andrew taking care of business. I just love his little grunting noises and the body shiver that he does at the grand finale.

Toast

Andrew had his first piece of baby toast today. They are pretty good size pieces. He immediately started biting down on it.. then slowly decided he didn't want it anymore and proceeded to throw them on the ground. You can see him throwing it away in the video clip below.

Rasberries

Andrew has been obsessively blowing rasberries lately..too bad it doesn't smell so fruity! He is a drooling machine!

barney

We ran into Barney at Toys R' Us today. Apparently it is his 20th birthday and he was on tour across the states taking pictures with children. The line was crazy long, weaving through the store with parents and kids all dressed up to see barney. And NO.. for those of you wondering, we did NOT intentionally go to see barney. He happened to be there! So needless to say.. we took a pic with him, even though Andrew had no clue who or what he was! The things we do for our kids. =)

i think Dad was the happiest to see barney!
