swinging in the park

I took Andrew to the park close to sunset since he took such a long afternoon nap. He just loves to swing.. and will even try to sleep in it! Since we don't have a swingset and our yard is so tiny, i take Andrew to the park when its not so hot outside. He loves being outdoors. He's gonna make a great boy scout! Daddy met us up after work. It was cute to see them swinging together!

First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day couldn't have been any better. I woke up with David cooking blueberry pancakes and eggs...grits... coffee... the whole shabang! What a way to start a sunday morning! Too bad Andrew ate most of the pancakes! =) Then after Andrew's morning nap, we took him to the zoo. He loved looking at all the animals and especially loved the miniature monkeys ( i forgot what they were called). we then came home and took a family nap and woke up to go to one of my favorite places... cheesecake factory! We had a yummy dinner followed by a godiva brownie sundae..ummmmm! Andrew presented me with his first mother's day card and told me how much he appreciated me. Andrew also gave me a beautiful David Yurman bracelet with diamonds! I was speechless. Its been my favorite present and i've been wearing it nonstop! Here are some pics of our wonderful Mother's day. I'll never forget it. *sniff sniff*

Our first train ride around the park!

baby signs

We've been doing baby signs at home and we were so exciting to see Andrew really is picking it up. His first sign has been "dog". A few weeks ago as i was getting him out of the car, my neighbor was walking her boxer outside. Andrew looked at me and starting panting with his mouth open (sign for dog). I was sooo excited and then he kept doing it whenever he saw Abby (our yorkie) at home. I have a video clip.. but will post it later since i've been having so many problems with our computer lately. His next signs were "drink" and "fish" and "frog". here are some pictures i was able to quickly get of him doing his baby signs.
"fish"- smacking lips

"frog"- tongue in and out

Fun in the Pool

Andrew had his first dip in the pool last week with Kaitlin. I put him in feet first and he immediately sat down and started splashing around. Kaitlin was a little scared at first, but eventually came in and splashed all around! Andrew didn't mind the splashes the least bit. He would have stayed in the pool longer, but was so exhausted we had to call it a day.

Kaitlin and Andrew got along so well. It was sweet to see them interact with each other. By the end of their visit, Kaitlin would feed him fruit.. and Andrew would be crawling and following her around while pulling on her dress. He even cried when she left the room!

Sweet cousins.

Aquarium

Andrew's cousin Kaitlin and Auntie Katherine came to Houston for a visit last week. We took them with grandma and grandpa to the Aquarium. When we got there, there were kids everywhere and as it turns out.. they were having some sort of environmental awareness day. Though it was hot outside, they had a blast. Here are a few of my favorite pics.

Outside the Aquarium by the fountain. I think kaitlin was itching to get down!

Kaitlin is itching to get down.. again! she's like.."can u please stop taking pictures already?"

The recycling sheriff and seal friend? who knows... makes a cute pic though!

Love this pic!

Gymboree

Last Tuesday was our weekly Gymboree day. Andrew had so much fun. They brought out this mat and folded it up like a wall so that the babies could pull up and cruise around on it. Then, they poured all these balls in the middle. Andrew was so intrigued by this. He also loved to crawl through the colorful tunnels. I thought he'd be scared and claustrophobic, but as soon as he saw my face at the other end, he would smile and crawl to me as fast as he could!

Andrew's looking down at all the colorful balls, wanting one so badly!

He got one! okay.. i admit.. i got it for him!

Crawling through the tunnel. He loved it!

Grandmas visit houston

Last weekend we had my mom as well and my aunt and uncle from Korea visit us in Houston. It was their first time to meet Andrew. Andrew surprisingly took to them really well. There's an old saying in korean that says "you can't fool the bloodline"... or uh.. something like that! My aunt and uncle came bearing gifts for the whole family. Our favorite was a set of Korean animated kids dvd's with singing and dancing kids and animals that teach the korean language. Though its a little advanced for Andrew right now, but it's good because it gives mommy and daddy time to learn before Andrew does! Here are a few pictures from their visit.

Noodles

A few Sundays ago, we discovered what Andrew's favorite food is.... NOODLES! After church we stopped by to eat a special korean-chinese noodle dish called Ja Jjang Myun. Its noodles with this black bean sauce with beef and onions. Growing up, i used to think it was gross because they looked like brown worms. We sat Andrew down and gave him some noodles and he ate so much! He loved feeding himself... although most of it did get all over his clothes.. and of course he was wearing all white! Here are some pics of him eating his new favorite dish.

Pet Store

To those that have been checking the blog lately, you've noticed i haven't posted in the past few weeks. I've had a really annoying virus on our computer and we've just now got most of it fixed. we really need a new computer! Anyways.. I've got some catching up to do.

I took Andrew to the local pet store a few weeks ago and he LOVED it. I knew he always loved dogs.. but there were so many of them there. He wanted to get out of my arms so bad so i put him down and he immediately started slapping the windows. Of course, this got the dogs all excited and they started jumping on the windows. I thought Andrew might get scared, but instead he was smiling and kept slapping on the windows! I just know its only a matter of a few years before he starts begging me to take them home! here's a few pics.
